Welcoming Cancer Support Society to the SIP Family |
We recently hosted a Celebration Lunch to mark the successful close of our support deal with Cancer Support Society (CSS), now officially part of the SIP family! The event brought together CSS co-founders Mark Cheung and Dr. Tom Ho, along with our dedicated pro bono partners—Milbank LLP (legal), Grant Thornton Hong Kong (financial), and ALS International (management/HR)—whose expertise was instrumental during the due diligence process. After months of collaboration, it was deeply meaningful to connect in person, celebrate this milestone, and strengthen cross-sector relationships. Our heartfelt thanks to all partners for your time, care, and commitment. We’re thrilled to welcome Cancer Support Society on board and look forward to driving long-term impact together.

Sharing SIP’s Approach to Impact Investing at CUHK Events |
SIP Executive Director Lillian Li was invited as a featured speaker at two events hosted by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where she shared SIPHK’s innovative approach to supporting social purpose organizations (SPOs) through impact investing.
At Startup 101: Driving Social Impact and Sustainable Growth, hosted by the Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services, Lillian engaged CUHK students and entrepreneurs in meaningful discussions on addressing societal challenges through startups. She emphasized strategies aligned with key UN Sustainable Development Goals—including health (SDG 3), reduced inequalities (SDG 10), and climate action (SDG 13)—and shared real-world examples from SIPHK’s portfolio, such as MilMill and Contented Living.
In the CUHK Funder Insights Webinar, Lillian further elaborated on SIPHK’s impact investing model, including its provision of patient capital, pro bono advisory from partners like Bain and BCG, and capacity-building support for SPOs transitioning from grant dependency to market-based funding. She also introduced SIPHK’s “Dual Value Proposition,” a framework that balances financial sustainability with measurable social outcomes.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Lillian and look forward to continuing these valuable conversations on advancing social innovation.

Each year, we host the SIP Fellows Gathering to bring together the bright young students and professionals who have interned with us or contributed their skills along the way. It’s a joyful occasion to reconnect, share fond memories of working with SIP, and build new friendships across cohorts. More than just a celebration, the gathering reflects our hope that as these high-potential individuals grow in their careers, they will carry the spirit of SIP with them—and perhaps even extend our impact into new industries and communities.
