SIP announced its investment in Mil Mill, a paper pulp factory operated by waste recycler Secure Information Disposal Services Limited (SSID). SIP led the investment with HKD 3 million, and successfully attracted a local family office to invest an equal amount through SIP, resulting in a total investment of HKD 6 million aimed at supporting Mil Mill's continued contribution to addressing environmental and climate change issues in Hong Kong.

Contented Living welcomed members of the SIP Board and the Philanthropic Committee to explore its latest offerings. Driven by a surge in demand for accommodation for overseas workers, Contented Living has been diligently renovating and expanding its facilities. The newly furnished area at Vincent House in Jordan boasts bunk beds, three shower/toilet facilities, sturdy fixtures, ample lighting, and efficient air conditioning. Additionally, residents benefit from locker and hanging spaces, as well as easy access to fire escapes and elevators. The emphasis on quality and convenience underscores Contented Living's commitment to providing comfortable living spaces for temporary labor.

KIBO received DBS Foundation Grant Award |
KIBO disrupts the footwear industry by upcycling waste and recycling materials such as scrap leather, plastic bottles, and apple waste to create sustainable shoes. The grant will be used to expand and enhance KIBO's shoe line in safety, workwear, and schoolwear. In addition to the grant funding, KIBO will also receive bank-wide support, including preferential banking packages, mentorship, capacity-building, and access to a range of opportunities such as business networking prospects and patient capital.

Superfood havens in the sky - Rooftop Republic’s new partnership with Henderson Land Development |
Rooftop Republic partnered with Henderson Land Development to establish two urban farms in Hong Kong's bustling districts: Harvest Above at H Zentre in Tsim Sha Tsui and Harvest Above at Manulife Financial Centre (MFC) in Kwun Tong. These projects features Rooftop Republic's comprehensive range of services from design and consultancy to farm installation and management, and focus on promoting health, wellbeing, and sustainable living among urban residents through the cultivation of nutrient-dense superfoods such as moringa, dragonfruit, beetroots, and swiss chard. The recent official launch of Harvest Above at H Zentre was supported by Rooftop Republic in collaboration with the Hong Kong SAR Government's Strive and Rise Programme, featuring urban farming experiences and harvesting sessions led by Executive Chef Ilaria Zamperlin, offering participants a farm-to-table culinary experience.

Impact Incubator is Calling for Applications |
The 2024 first cohort of applications for the Impact Incubator will close on May 31st, 2024. The Impact Incubator aims to provide ongoing support to projects at various stages, including Scale-up, Growing, and Start-up. Our goal is to assist innovative projects in their continuous progress and facilitate their expansion to a larger scale, thereby generating broader and more far-reaching social impact. Moreover, Impact Incubator will also assist the SIE Fund strengthen its collaboration with the government in taking forward the strategy of “Targeted Poverty Alleviation”, aiming to address pressing poverty issues and meet the needs of vulnerable groups.
