The Institute of Philanthropy has published Unlocking Impact Capital in Hong Kong: Learnings from Global Ecosystems, developed with Social Finance and Tri-Sector Associates, in collaboration with the Financial Services Development Council and the Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy. Drawing on interviews with more than 50 stakeholders across Hong Kong, the UK, Japan, and Singapore, the report looks at how the city can strengthen its ecosystem for impact capital.

SIP was glad to contribute to the conversation: Board Chair Josephine Price shared how SIP's network of pro-bono partners helps social purpose organisations access the legal, accounting, and investment support they need to grow, rather than simply acting as an "accelerator." The report also references SIP's earlier HK$1.5 million concessional loan to Contented Living as one of several examples of how early capital can help unlock further investment. SIP is looking for Hong Kong Social Purpose Organisations (SPOs) ready to scale. If your organisation is doing work that matters and needs the right capital and support to grow further, we'd like to hear from you.

We're looking for SPOs that:

• Contribute to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and/or SDG 13 (Climate Action) within Hong Kong
• Have a proven, viable revenue model with market buy-in and room to scale. We don't fund seed-stage ventures, or projects without a track record of sustainability.

Selected SPOs receive HKD 0.5 to 3 million in funding over 1 to 5 years. We also bring due diligence guidance, connections across our network, help with business expansion, and access to our extensive pro bono professional network.

The programme has already created 2,989 paid employment hours and 44 meaningful roles for 35 individuals. All net proceeds go back into social partnerships, and the packaging is fully recyclable. Early reservations close 18 September; delivery follows on 25–26 November.
