SIP Invests HKD 1 Million in Cancer Support Society Alongside Impact-Driven Funders to Advance Inclusive Dental Care and Health Equity in Hong Kong |
SIP has invested HKD 1 million in Cancer Support Society (CSS), a Hong Kong-based social enterprise providing affordable dental care to cancer patients and individuals with special needs. The funding, alongside support from other impact-driven funders, will help CSS establish a barrier-free dental clinic, expand services, and enhance operational capacity. Founded in 2022, CSS addresses the critical oral health challenges faced by head and neck cancer survivors, delivering one-stop dental and rehabilitation services through a team of dentists, social workers, and educators. SIP’s investment underscores its commitment to advancing health equity and supporting mission-driven innovations aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.

Josephine discusses the ‘Missing Middle’ at SFi Impact Summit |
SIP Chair Josephine Price led a thematic discussion on “Bridging the Missing Middle: Funding Social Ventures Beyond the Seed Stage” at the recent SFi Impact Summit. While early-stage support is growing in Asia, many social purpose organizations (SPOs) in Hong Kong continue to face a critical funding gap when it comes to scaling. Through a case study exercise, participants examined the realistic financing options—grants, loans, equity, blended finance—and the vital role of non-financial support such as legal guidance and impact measurement. The session highlighted the urgent need for catalytic capital, patient finance, and capacity-building to enable growth, and called for more localised, investment-ready solutions. SIP remains committed to advancing these conversations and unlocking the capital SPOs need to thrive.

Founders’ Club Gathering: A Space for Connection and Exchange |
At SIP, we believe that social purpose leaders thrive not only through resources and funding—but also through trusted peer support and meaningful exchange.
That’s why we host the Founders’ Club Gathering, a quarterly lunch that brings together leaders from our portfolio and extended SPO network. These informal meet-ups offer a rare space for founders and executive directors to step away from their day-to-day operations and connect with others who understand the challenges and realities of leading mission-driven organisations.
Whether it’s exchanging leadership insights, unpacking common hurdles, or simply sharing encouragement, we’ve seen time and again how powerful it is to build community among those working toward social good.
