On 4 June 2026, SIP and Endowus co-hosted "Purpose-Driven Wealth: Redefining Returns Through Impact Investing," a networking session held as part of SFi Impact Week's Partnered & Satellite Events programme. Family offices, private investors, and ecosystem builders came together to talk about how capital in Hong Kong could be doing two things simultaneously: help build something worth having, while earning a return.

Samuel Rhee, Co-Founder, Chairman & Group CIO at Endowus, and Josephine Price, Board Chair of SIP, led the conversation, drawing on their own experience putting capital behind high-potential social purpose organisations (SPOs). Guests also got to meet a few of those SPO leaders in person and compare notes with peers on where capital is actually needed on the ground.

This quarter, SIP partnered with the pro bono team at Vistra to run our 2026 Financial Literacy Clinic. Three of our Social Purpose Organisations: Hong Kong Aquaculture, Cancer Support Society (Smile Again), and MilMill; each sat down with Vistra representatives Joyce Lau, Tina Leung, Peter Wan and Vanky Chan for a 1:1 consultation on their financial management and reporting. Most SPOs are running lean, so being able to spend time with someone who can walk through the numbers properly is incredibly valuable.

That's exactly the gap SIP tries to close: pairing capital with the kind of professional expertise SPOs can't easily hire for themselves. A big thank you to the Vistra team for their time and effort, and to our SPO partners for being open about the operational challenges they're working through.

On 28 May 2026, SIP co-hosted a Lunch & Learn session at WYNG Commons with WYNG Foundation, inviting the Endowus team to speak on "Achieving Financial Autonomy: Building Reserves through Expert Strategies," bringing together finance leads and committee members across the sector.

Endowus's Dominic Ong and Steffanie Yuen covered the governance side of reserves management: fiduciary duties, and how an Investment Policy Statement sets out roles, risk tolerance, and asset allocation, using charity case studies as illustration. They then turned to treasury options beyond a single fixed deposit, including money market funds and short-duration bond funds for different time horizons.

For SPOs with limited in-house finance capacity, sessions like this translate directly into better-informed board conversations. We are grateful to WYNG Foundation for co-hosting and sponsoring this session, to the Endowus team for sharing their expertise, and to everyone who joined.

At the Games for Change Hong Kong 2026 Festival on May 27, SIP Executive Director Lillian Li joined the panel "Scouting Promise: Identifying, Investing, and Incubating the Next Big Idea," alongside Cintia Nunes of The Mills Fabrica and Samuel Lee of Kepler Interactive. The session explored how different organisations recognise early promise and help ideas develop into initiatives with lasting value.

Drawing on SIP's experience, Lillian spoke about what it takes to support mission-driven organisations beyond the funding stage, including strengthening governance, legal, finance, and organisational capacity. The discussion also underscored a broader point: backing a strong idea often means backing the people and support structures around it as well.

SIP Executive Director Lillian Li recently joined The Social Investment Consultancy as a panellist for “From Giving to Catalysing: Hong Kong’s Next Chapter in Impact Capital,” a satellite event of Sustainable Finance Initiative's SFi Impact Week held on 4 June 2026.

Moderated by Bonnie Chiu, Managing Director of TSIC, the panel brought together Martin Tan, Chief Executive Officer of The Majurity Trust; Lillian Li, Executive Director of Social Impact Partners; and Justin Chang, Director for Philanthropy and Catalytic Capital at RS Group, to discuss how funders can move beyond one-off giving into a more active, catalytic role. 

As Hong Kong’s implementation voice on the panel, Lillian shared perspectives on venture philanthropy, intermediary support, and the needs of social purpose organisations, contributing to an important cross-sector conversation on how capital, capability, and impact can be better aligned in Hong Kong’s evolving impact ecosystem.

On 6 July 2026, SIP Executive Director Lillian Li joined the judging panel for the STEM Project Roadshow Competition, the closing event of the 3rd Lingnan–Yuanpei STEM Summer Academy, a seven-day programme jointly run by Lingnan University and Peking University's Yuanpei College. 

She judged alongside Dr. Daniel Chun, Vice President of the Smart City Consortium, and Mr Edmond Lam, Senior Manager (AI & Data) at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP); as thirty students across five cross-institutional teams presented projects ranging from an AI-powered cognitive training device for elderly users with mild cognitive impairment to the eventual champion, an inclusive-design period-leak emergency kit. Lillian presented the second runner-up prize to the cognitive-training team, and the judging panel commended this year's cohort for pairing strong technical execution with a genuine understanding of the human needs behind each idea.

Angel is a first-year International Business and Global Management student at the University of Hong Kong, double majoring in Finance. She has a passion for impact investing, financial modeling, and promoting finance as a force for good. During her internship, she is applying her financial modeling skills and due diligence experience to help with deal sourcing, impact measurement, and financial analysis. She is looking forward to gaining more practical experience in financial modeling and relevant deck building work, all to create tangible outcomes for both investors and the local community.

Recently, CareER had the privilege of taking part in a hybrid training workshop for over 60 participants from MTR Corporation Limited, including line managers from the Talent-Wise and EmpowerZ Youth Placement Pilot programmes, alongside colleagues who are passionate about fostering inclusion.

The session, titled "Workplace Inclusion 101," provided a foundation in disability inclusion by focusing on practical awareness of working with people with different disabilities, confidence-building strategies for inclusive communication, and actionable tips to support a diverse and inclusive workplace.

This interactive session was designed to empower managers and colleagues to better understand inclusion and implement meaningful changes in their workplace practices.

As Hong Kong faces hotter days, healthy indoor air is becoming more important than ever. On 25 June, Clean Air Network (CAN) successfully hosted the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) workshop, “Healthy Indoor Air, Climate Ready Buildings - Best Practice Exchange,” bringing together leaders and representatives from the Hong Kong SAR Government, businesses, professional institutions, and community sectors. In a dense, air-conditioned city like Hong Kong, rising temperatures mean people spend more time indoors, making IAQ a key health and climate issue. The workshop explored practical solutions that protect occupant health while supporting building decarbonisation, including better ventilation, smarter monitoring, source control, and effective filtration. More importantly, it strengthened CAN’s vision of building a cross-sector ecosystem to tackle indoor air quality in Hong Kong.

Teach For Hong Kong celebrates the graduation of its 2025-26 Fellowship cohort. Over the past year, 15 dedicated Fellows participated in over 230 hours of leadership training, deepening their understanding of under-resourced students and inspiring innovative approaches to education. They taught in 9 high-need schools, leading initiatives such as career exploration and social emotional learning, helping students realize their potential, explore new possibilities, and bring education equity.

Over the past 10 years, TFHK's network of 240+ alumni and 160+ cross-sector partners has uplifted more than 53,000 underserved students across 40+ schools. The impact was made possible through cross-sector collaboration with partners from corporates, education, philanthropy, and NGOs.
